Anguilla is Colonized by British and Irish people in 1650. The islanders, believing their interests were being ignored and wishing to retain their direct links with Britain, so they seek separation from them. Eventually Anguilla became a separate British Dependent Territory in 1980.

Temperatures vary little throughout the year. The daily weather ranges from about 27 °C in December and 30 °C in July. Rainfall is inconsistent, averaging about 900 mm per year
